"Home Remedy" named Best Country Single!
10/17/2004
Nashville's Honored Scene magazing has named "Home Remedy" as Best Country Single of 2004!!!
Well, just for the record, I officially fell out of my rocking chair when I heard about this...Blessed thanks to the Muse (for those of you here in Nashville, it seems to be the one in the roundabout being given a leg up by her guy friend that visits most frequently...the 7th muse, I believe;)

Best Country Single: "Home Remedy"
A duet with co-producer Will Kimbrough, this sweetly stated, melodic gem cites both the comfort and the pysical expression of love in the warmest of terms by conveying the tender relief a couple experience when uniting at the end of a long work day.
"it's a home-remedy/When you put your arms around me, " Young opens in her lush alto, setting up the give-and-take of such lines as "You brought your laughter/I gave my trust/You ushowed me patience and a healthy dose of lust."
At a time when sex is treated like a series of aggressive conquests by many performers, Young counteracts by underscoring the positive, accomadating spirit at love's core.
Because Young is an independent artist, this beautiful tune wasn't heard on the commercial airwaves, but that's radio's loss.
