Wowweeeee! May I now officially relay our wide-eyed wonder and eminent gratitude at being considered right 'long side some Dear Friends of ours, both Old Crow Medicine Show and Mindy Smith, for the renowned and illustrious title of Best Emerging Artist of 2004 awarded by the Americana Music Association. The Greencards areup for it, as well, and though we've not yet had the pleasure of making their acquaintance, we dig the heck out of their music.
Of course, we understand that though the decision may be collective, it is ultimately a subjective consideration and each & every one of us plumb crazy folks that have committed the whole sha-bang to a life of this business we call music deserves a best emerging artist award, because we really are all artists and we really are all emerging, in a constant state of flux &improvement, an eternal search for the pure spring, the clear voice from above, beyond and deep inside. So, regardless of how this cookie crumbles, it's a sweet treat for all parties involved, if I do say so myself. WE LOVE AMERICANA RADIO! FREE VOICES UNITE!
